Chris as a cyclist
Here you see Chris riding in a professional cycle competition.
Chris found out that riding a bike is much better for your health than driving a car.He also noticed that riding a moped is fun, practical and giving you freedom!

Red Kreidler MP9, Grey Kreidler MP19

The grey Kreidler MP19 he bought from Penny from the USA, this bike was still in a very good condition, it's not fast, about 25 mph. The red Kreidler MP9 was not in such a good shape, the engine needed a total overhaul. Because no engine parts are available in the USA, Chris decided to send the engine to me in Holland, where Piet van der Gaag did the overhauling of the engine and some performance tuning. John Bos provided us with the parts. It became an expensive and time-consuming project, but engine is completely overhauled now, has more torque and a topspeed of 40 mph (60 km/h)

An example of bike pacing

Here you see, as an example, a Derny bike riding before a cyclist on an indoor track. Cycle-training behind a moped is good for training for the high speeds in race competition, so that is what Chris does behind one of his mopeds. (if he can get someone to drive the moped).

Chris' 2-wheelfleet

To the left you see the Sachs moped and 4 of his expensive bikes, actually he owns about a dozen of 2-wheelers! :-)

Chris speeding downhill to 56 mph on the Trek Y-frame bike!

Chris wrote: Here I am on that Trek Y-frame going down a speed course, I got third place at 56mph. So I was not very happy not to win, so I called a world classspeed specialist who builds the world record speed bikes, Karpiel Designs Ltd. Custom Mountain Bike Frames, watch the intro, you'll see the speed bike I am getting built now, then go to SNOW and you can get the details. These bikes are capable of going over 100 mph and setting world records! The problem with high speed bicycles are the wheels and disc brakes shear at the hubs, so the wheels are made from magnesium, very strong and safe. Next Feburary I will return with this machine and do the speed event and should set the course record, then I can go to the high speed course in France and attempt a world record...
